Congrats are needed for Brody!

As mention earlier Brody has been accepted to WSU starting this Spring. Which we are quite excited about! Well yesterday in the mail we received notification that Brody has also been accepted into the Honors College here at WSU! Not only that but yesterday he also won third prize with his White Chicken Chili yesterday at his work's Chili Cook-off! What a week for for him!

Christmas!

So after much tribulations of when Christmas music can be played, it is time. Brody can play all the Christmas music he wished and there will be no complaints from me until Jan 1st.

So today, we went out to find our FIRST Christmas Tree. I have always wanted a Charlie Brown like one, and as you can see we found the perfect one. We went to the nursery near Moscow and looked around and saw this little guy with no tag. All the other potted trees were $40-60 out side. So we went inside to ask and the lady sold it to us for $10! So we went to the Dollar Store and got a few decorations and I had the ribbon from something. Now we have our Christmas tree and another plant to decorate our home! We have decided to keep it for as long as we can, and when it gets too big, plant it!

Pies and Blueberries...

I am a little stressed out from school and have gone into a baking frenzy. Although, I honestly think it started on Halloween when I went to bake a pumpkin pie for my sister-in-law. Making a pumpkin pie is not a simple ordeal. I make it from a real pumpkin, so I, also being a little rushed was doing multiple things at a time. The filling was just fine, but the crust, what I pride the most in my pies, was not. So since then I have been wanting to make another pie to "rebuild" my confidence. Which brings me to the blueberries...

For the last 4 times, which is now 6 weeks, Brody and I have gone grocery shopping I have had blueberries (frozen, mind you) on list. But every time we go Winco and Safeway were COMPLETELY SOLD OUT! So finally today I asked costumer service what the deal was. So the lady looks in the inventory and they of course don't have any, so she says she is sorry and says they will order some canned blueberries. When I told her I meant frozen, she looked again, and tells me that they get ordered EVERY NIGHT. So therefore restocked everyday. So why can I not purchase frozen blueberries? And why are people buying the grocery store out daily? Plus it is not even their season!!!

I finally did it!

Brody desperately needed a hair cut so this morning we called up his sister and went over and got him a nice regular hair cut. Now, I have been talking for some time about donating my hair to Locks of Love when it is long enough, but never thinking that I would actually get enough courage to do it. So after Brody's cut I showed Lilli the cut I wanted if it was long enough other wise just a trim this time, maybe we will wait until the end of the winter. But I just had the required 10 inches, so we did it!

Wedding Bliss!!

I haven't posted/blogged about our wedding yet so here we go!

We got married on May 15 in the Portland, Oregon Temple. It was a beautiful day without a cloud in sky. We had our first reception at a friends of the family's house. They have a gorgeous, yet simple garden. Another old family friend came down and did our ring ceremony. The weather on Saturday was also wonderful. Our second reception was in Pullman, and was beautiful. My grandparents who live in Texas came up for this reception, they surprised me and it was wonderful!

But pictures are better than words so here are a few!

Here we are at the Temple.

Here is Art and our ring ceremony. We decided to do cheesecake instead of real cake at the
receptions.

And it is not a wedding or a reception without some dancing! Also my mom's parents and aunt and uncle that came to the Pullman reception.

"Parables"

This summer Brody, Tiffany, and I participated in our stake musical. Here is the link to the article. We had fun doing it, although it took a lot of time. The three of us were narrators and were also in the choir. If you look in the first picture in the bottom right she is wearing a red blouse.

TMS, The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society

TMS, which stands for The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society, has accepted my co-authored research paper. In July, I submitted an abstract of the paper for review for presentaion at the annual meeting. I was not expecting to hear that I was accepted to present this paper. But, on the 12th of August, I got my acceptance email. The conference is in Seattle this year, and is February 14-18. Another great thing about this is that this paper will be published as part of the conference proceedings! So on top of taking a very full semester of 400 level classes, I will be writing, editing, and creating a presentation on this paper, titled, Fatigue in Friction Stir Welded 7050 Al.

Blogging, a new adventure...

Well I know I few people that use this site, and or blog. It is new to me, but I feel that it could be a great way for people, relatives and friends to catch up on what Brody and I are up to.
I can't say how often posts will be or even if they will be that regular, but we will try for at least twice a month...
